Allure Beauty Box March 2019

Beauty boxes are always an essential that I look forward to getting each month. They are perfect for someone that wants to try a brand, specific product, etc, but may not want to splurge on a hefty price tagged item. If you are someone like me that is ballin’ on a budget (um, hello vacation and summer!!), then beauty boxes are something for you to try. I have tried beauty boxes from the Sephora Play! boxes, to Ipsy, to Birchbox, to Boxy Charm, to Allure Beauty Box. Allure Beauty Box always impresses me each month because they truly take their time in finding incredible products for their subscribers to try out each month that have became a staple in my skincare, haircare, and makeup routines. Did you know these are curated by true editors at Allure? If you get the magazine and read it like I do, then you need to check this box out! In this blog, I am going to share with you all the items that I received in my March Allure Beauty Box: P.S. The Allure Beauty Box is $15, but they normally have a deal going on for first time subscribers.

Here is what the bag looked like when I received it in the mail. It is a plastic white bag with gold detailing. Personally, I prefer a bag that has a fabric to it, but for $15, it isn’t a dealbreaker.

1 – The first item that I received in this month’s Allure Beauty Box was the Belif ‘The True Cream – Aqua Bomb’. I’ve tried this moisturizer before as it’s in Sephora and always sampled in the 100 perk point section near the check out line and I have always enjoyed it. It’s a very nice moisturizer that not only helps with hydration, but can also set as a good base to apply foundation. It’s infused with antioxidant lady’s mantle which helps neutralize skin damage free radicals, improve your skin’s texture and elasticity and mimics the appearance of large pores. Once applied, you’re automatically hit with a burst of cooling hydration. This moisturizer makes it perfect for normal, dry, and oily skin types. I find that even oily skin types like myself need a good drink of water in their skincare.

2 – Another skin product that I’m excited to try is the Derma-E Microdermabrasion Scrub. The texture of this scrub is mildly gritty to exfoliate skin with a lightweight mousse-like texture to balance out skin and not to feel as irritated and red. Exfoliating is primal to ensure you have removed all dead skin and cleaned all the gunk from your pores. It is recommended to exfoliate at least once or twice a week to expose clean and radiant skin. The citrus oil and dead sea salt scrub has a very spa-like lemon scent and once you use, you will be drifted away into relaxation!

3 – Mamonde Rose Water Toner – after you exfoliate your face, it is recommended to tone your face to remove the excess makeup, dead skin, and gunk that still may be on your skin. This is a Korean toner that is perfect for people with dry skin as this product has soothing/moisturizing properties to ensure you have supple and hydrated skin. It is very important to tone the skin because it helps balance out your pH. This toner has 100% Damask rose to help soothe the skin. My biggest recommendation in using this product is to ensure it is on a dry cotton round and to massage in circular motions onto your skin. Allow to dry. No need to rinse!

4 – Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil – Can you see we are on a trend now? From my research (and what I’ve already received in other boxes!), Vitamin C oils are a big trend right now in the skincare industry(Ole Henriksen, Sunday Riley…). Many women want that lit from within glow and they can achieve that from a vitamin C oil or moisturizer. This Biossance oil brightens, firms, and evens skin tone and texture. If you have redness, this product is really going to benefit you in balancing out your skin tone and providing an even texture. The interesting component that is in this oil is the Squalane oil that is supposed to be naturally moisturizing from renewable sugarcane. It is best to use any oil after your moisturizer in your skincare routine.

5 – Acure – Seriously Soothing Night Oil – this is an awesome blue oil that is great to use at night time! This is a soothing Blue tansy night oil that is best to use over your favorite retinol treatment. Did you know there’s 10 different oils packed into this bottle? According to Allure, these have sweet almond, jojoba, castor, argan, rose flower, grape seed, kukui nut, blue tansy flower, yarrow, and matricaria flower. This oil has the blue tint to it because of the blue tansy flower. It will not turn your entire face blue though! These 10 different oils are also great for moisture even while you are catching your zzz’s in the middle of the night. It is free of paraben and other harsh chemicals that can irritate skin.

6 – Amika Velveteen Dream Smoothing Balm – OMG… Am I so excited to blog about Amika products and how much I LOVE them!! I have tried so many Amika products and I have loved each and every one of them; from dry shampoos, to blow out sprays, to dry conditioners, to now this smoothing balm. I am 100% going to take advantage of this! Smoothing balms are great for *duh*, smoothing out your hair! If you’re someone that suffers from frizzy, dry hair, then you may benefit from this. Smoothing balms are also great for blowing out your hair with a round brush for added smoothness in your hair. This balm is full of ‘good for you’ ingredients like wild berry bark extract and conditioning polymer. When I tried this product on the back of my hand, I realized that this product is very lightweight and is very easy to work into the hair.

7 – au Naturale Creme Multistick in Grapefruit – I totally saved the best for last!!! I LOVE the multistick trend and I totally started getting into it once Bite Beauty came out with a bunch of multisticks for highlight and lips, eyes, and cheeks. They are perfect for the man or woman that is always on the go. This one in particular though is especially gorgeous! It’s the prettiest shade of coral pink with gold glitter in it making it perfect for spring or the every day woman that wants a natural blushed cheek. I found that the product was a little stiff from swatching it from the tube, but once I warmed up the product, it was easy to blend out. I can totally see this blush being perfect with a dark bronze/brown smokey eye and a pinky nude lip. In my opinion, the best way to apply cream/stick products is to warm up the product on your fingers and slightly dab onto skin. The warmth of your hands will blend out the product seamlessly creating a natural finish.

If you would like me to try all of these products in another post and share my experience, please let me know! I am more than happy/willing to check in and share my thoughts of all of these products. Until then, I will continue to subscribe to the Allure Beauty Box to see what they keep surprising me with each month. Thanks for reading and feel free to leave any feedback in the comments if there’s something you want me to review/try or any feedback. Thank you! Xoxo Emily
